"From Microsoft Watch: Microsoft is poised to release to a select group of
testers a new interim test of Windows Vista any day now, we hear. That build
could be No. 5506 – or something slightly later, according to testers. In any
case, we've seen from a few screen shots of Vista build 5506 that various
Windows Live services are now part of the latest builds. Microsoft is
including links to allow consumers to download (or, in the case of Windows
Live OneCare, to purchase) certain Live services. But it seems at least one
Windows Live service, Windows Live Messenger, could become part of the
operating system, accessible from the Start Menu, if the latest builds are
indicative of Microsoft's final product directions..."

Yes I read somewhere else it was posted on Tech connect that there will be a
interm build, just wondering will MSDN subscribers get this build to?

Greetings,

This was already known before, but obviously the media didn't pay attention when it wasn't
obvious. Furthermore, of course there's going to be links to Live services, or else is
wouldn't have been branded "Windows" Live in the first place.

In fact, if you look at every version of Windows there's always been links to MSN Search, the
MSN homepage and the like, I really don't see how this is any different from any other time
nor how it is proof of your "webbox".

Well your "Long Journey" started with Windows 95 then, as it had links to MSN then too.

Cool!

I'm glad to hear that as I had subscribed to Live One Care right before the
Vista Beta 2 came out...

You know Kevin, being in MSDN or TechNet Plus does not entitle you to get
all interm builds. Granted, I would like to test out this new build, but I
can wait for RC1 that is due out in the sometime next month.
