Windows live messanger error

Hi, my Windows live messanger installer does not work. When i click on it, it
gives the error message that 'The appication has failed to initialize
properly (0xc0000005).' I tried to re-download the installer but the same
error message appears. Does anyone have any idea on how to fix this?

I have the same issue and tried the info below - without success - I am still
getting the error message.
