Windows Live Messenger 2009; will not install

Okay, so i uninstalled the newest version of WLM because i didn't like how
the webcam image went smaller and stuff...
i used "windows install clean up" to delete it
and then installed WLM 8.5 and it worked

but it was very very slow and was awful.

So i try to install 2009 WLM again, and it won't let me.

It gets too 100% then goes backwards on it self and comes up with a lot of
error codes etc
1) Microsoft Application Error Reporting
2) Microsoft Visual Studio Runtime
3) Windows live upload tool
4) Windows live sign-in assistant
5) Installer
6) Microsoft choice guard
7) Windows live communications platform could not open key:
UNKNOWN\COMPONENTS\9ADA8EA9BDD\A80D00DEF5C3D884390 A0AF4122F9365.

Under each one it says things too do so it will solve the error, i did
these, and still - no luck.

I've tried everything i've been able to think of.
I would just reboot the whole laptop, but i don't have the BOOT-CD.
so i've no idea what i can do to solve any of this now.

Although this is fixable with some work, as a "quick fix" just use System Restore to go back
to when you had Live Messenger 2009 installed.

To do that, if using Windows XP, click Start, then Help & Support, then "Undo changes to my
computer using System Restore" and restore back to a date before this started.

If using Windows Vista or Windows 7, click Start, type:
System Restore
and click the option when it appears, then follow the wizard.
