Greetings,
Intriguing. The 508CE775-4BA4-4748-82DF-FE28DA9F03B0 guid is actually for Windows Live
Messenger 8.5. I don't really understand why it would be in C:\Windows in the first place.
There's lots of solutions here should you really want 2009, but for fun and your peace of
mind, lets try and make it happy without using a blunt instrument. To do so, download the
8.5 MSI (Microsoft Installer) file:
http://messenger.jonathankay.com/redir/wlm85.asp
Save it to your desktop, then rename it to the file it's looking for,
Install_[508CE775-4BA4-4748-82DF-FE28DA9F03B0]. Then move that into the \Windows folder.
After that you can go ahead and upgrade the installation like before.
