windows live messenger 8.5 won't install

I download the WLinstaller thing from the windows live messenger page but i
when i went to install it it said It looks like you're offline To install
Windows Live programs, you must be online Please connect to the Internet, and
then try again.
i have read the other other question how it says the work offline option
must be checked but that is not the case for me.
can someone please help me.

Hey John i have the same problem that danny has but i just tried installing
it the wasy you say it and nothin happensa, it just says installing and it
goes away.....
Can you please help me....
