Windows Live Messenger & Live Spaces

Whenever I update my Live Spaces, my Messenger will freeze. It'll run fine
when I am updating the space and the window is open. It will freeze as soon
as I close the window when I am done updating. Now, the messenger will
freeze if I just leave it open for a while... Everytime I am forced to close
it down, I'd send the error report, but I am starting to get very annoyed
with this problem... Please advise and thanks in advance for any help.

I'd be annoyed, too. I've never heard of this. If you haven't already done so,
download the latest build of Messenger, 812, from the Messenger website. They
worked hard to resolve some of the performance issues. Also, clear you temporary
Internet files to see if that resolves it.

That is even more curious, then. Does this happen no matter what change you are
making to your Space? Perhaps it is the Contacts control used by WL Spaces and
shared with Messenger.

I think that may be it, because I just found out something else that's
interesting. If I just open up WL space, even w/o updating anything, when I
close the window, messenger freezes. If I open up WL space and close
messenger, WL space/IE freezes. If I go to WL space w/o signing in messenger
and sign in to WL space from IE, messenger will try to sign itself in and
when I close WL space, messenger wouldn't start and I can't force end the
program, only solution to that is to restart the computer. Say if it is the
contact control, what can I do to fix this? Thanks again.

Hi, Nicky. Unfortunately, you've already done everything I can think of. I
recommend sending what you have learned to the Messenger Support people here:
http://support.live.com/eform.aspx?p...ail&ct=eformts
and see if they have anything to try. I checked to see if the Contacts control
was an ActiveX control in IE (Tools, Manage Add-ons), but I don't see it on the
list. It would appear that the linkage between WLM and IE is somehow broken or
in conflict with something.
