Windows Live Messenger audi oquality

I don't use Windows Live Messenger much and usually with the same person.

I have a Logitech camera with built in microphone.

When I contact this person on Windows Live Messenger we get very poor audio
quality with lots of crackles, distortion etc.

If we disconnect and reconnect using Skype then it works perfectly OK. So
nothing wrong with wiring, drivers etc.

I tried speaking to myself tonight using my desktop and laptop, obviously
there was a bit of echo and feedback but the audio was basically OK.

We both have the latest version of Messenger and I did an update/repair
tonight to make sure there was nothing missing.

By the way, I don't suppose there is a test site (like Skype) so you check
listening and viewing yourself.

i had problems with the audio also on windows live messenger, and nothing i
tried worked...i finally did a reinstall of windows xp and that fixed the
audio problem.

Not that bothered! Easier to just use Skype
