I have the same problem.

Windows Vista Home Premium SP1, everything totally up to date.

As soon as I try to log in to Windows Live, it "stops responding". I have
even loaded the new 2009 Beta version, Build 14.0.5027.908 ... it comes to
something when Microsifts own OS can't cope with it's own programs !!!

So, any fixes in the pipeline (I'm not holding my breath !!!) ?

It's just happened again .. and this time I didn't even try to log in, I
opened it up, clicked Help / About so I could get the details for the
previous message and once again ... "Windows Live Messenger has stopped
working" ... I am then getting told that the program has been closed by Data
Execution Protection (DEP) in order to protect me from viruses ... and Vista
will not allow me to turn DEP off for this program ... WTF ?!?!?!?

Ya even i have problems with all versions of messenger...Ya Vista is not
allowing to put the DEP off for the messenger program...I dont understand why
microsoft is not giving the proper solution to this issue...

If we put the DEP off to the messenger program, it will work?????? I dont
think so

Its really strange that Microsoft's messenger is not working in Microsoft's OS

Hi all
Mine keeps crashing too, I think it happens on my laptop when the
screen saver comes on.
I am using a non windows screen saver and I have just changed it to a
standard Windows Vista screen saver to see if it still happens.
Ill let you know how I get on.
