Hi mel,
what you should do for this case is to right click on live messenger and run
as administrator it will work and another way...

There seems to be a few solutions to this problem, try this first.
1. start menu
2. computer
3. double click C drive (or drive you installed vista
4. double click program files
5. double click MSN messenger
6. right click msnmsgr
7. properties
8. compatibility- change TO: run this program as an administrator
If this does not work, open a CMD as admin, (this will show you how).
Elevated Command Prompt
Copy and paste this.
netsh int tcp set global autotuninglevel=disabled
Hit enter and try.
