As someone who has just been through this same problem, see my post (Windows
Live Messenger 2009 randomly closing with DEP Error)
I would suggest doing the following:
Start Menu --> Control Panel --> Administrator Tools --> Right Click on
Event Viewer and Run As Administrator
Then click on Application under Windows Logs
Under the Level column, find something labeled "Error" in one of the
"Error" rows you will find a description that is similar to the following:
Faulting application msnmsgr.exe, version 14.0.8089.726, time stamp
0x4a6ce533, faulting module XXXXXXXX
Where faulting module XXXXXXXX is the name of the add-in that is causing you
problems. Find the XXXXXXXXXX module, and rename it to something like
____XXXXXXXXX.old.XXX and that may solve your problem as it did for me
