Windows Live Messenger Crashes on OS Startup (Sometimes)

Notebook: HP DV9720US recently purchased with Vista Home Premium

Windows Live Messenger (8.5.1302.1018) sometimes crashes when the OS starts
up (I get the Dialog Box that offers to Close the Program or to Check for a
Solution and Restart the Program). And unlike other app crashes, when I try
to Check for a Solution and Restart the Program, nothing happens. Then I
simply go to Programs on the task bar and choose Windows Live Messenger for
execution and everything is fine (i.e., there is no internet issue or other
connection issue). Why the crash?

Remove Windows Live Messenger from Auto-Start.

there is a newsgroup for windows live messenger.. perhaps they can help
you..

I have not seen such a problem on any computer.. wlm runs fine

What is the fault data according to the Problem Reports and Solutions Center
control panel?
