Hi Guys/Gals,

I have no idea if this is the right place for me to be posting so sorry if
im wrong.

Is there a version of Live Messenger that allows you to choose the
destination of where you would like it installed?

The default installation destination is out of bounds when at work, so i'm
unable to install and get error code 1603 (i beleive). Please if anyone can
shed some light, thank you.

Once again sorry for posting in the wrong forum if i have.

Many thanks

Steve

When installing any software on *work* computer, it is advisable to consult
with *work* IT staff; if you like your job.

Greetings Steve,

Unfortunately no, although in some cases (depending on what you already have installed), you
can install Messenger on another machine and just copy \Program Files\Windows Live\Messenger
to a USB key or something similar.

The better (more likely) bet would be to use another application that supports Messenger like
aMSN or Trillian which do allow you to install it anywhere.

Additionally, you could use the web-based Messenger clients like http://eBuddy.com,
http://webmessenger.msn.com, http://www.iloveim.com, etc.
