Okay I love having a clean desktop with only the recycle bin and any program
shortcut that may come to appear on my desktop will be deleted. But windows
live messenger conveniently creates a new desktop shortcut every time I
restart is there any option to stop this or block it? And the stupid "sharing
folder" in folder with the drives is annoying the crap out of me. There is no
properties for it so i can't even hide it. Any ways to get rid of these?

I don't have a desktop icon for Windows Live Messenger. Windows Live
Messenger Version 2008 (Build 8.5.1302.1018) does not appear to create one
when one doesn't exist.

For the Sharing Folders, what happens when you go to Tools | Options |
Sharing Folders, and uncheck the box for "Use a sharing folder when I drag a
file onto a contact's name in my contact list?

Sorry, I find them convenient, and don't feel like playing Lab Rat, so try
it, and tell us what happens.

Unchecked it. Restarted my computer. It is still there.
