Windows Live Messenger doesnt work after update

Did a windows update Update for Windows XP (KB929338) and
now msn messenger doesnt run?

I am having the same problem with the latest updates. Had to restore prior to
the last MSN update to get messenger and hotmail/mymsn to authenticate again.
Live messenger keeps telling me that it cannot find the authentication site,
but I can connect to the web and connect to msn.com. Try to get to
hotmail/mymsn, it tells me I cannot connect at this time. Now I am holding
off on any further msn updates until someone blogs back on what is occurr
ing.

Try microsoft.public.windows.live.messenger newsgroup instead
