Windows live messenger has encountered a problem and nees fo close. We are
sorry for the inconvenience.

I keep getting the error msg. I have removed windows live messenger and
downloaded the latest version 8.1 and still keep getting the error msg and
messenger shuts down. any ideas

Are you running Windows XP or Vista? Internet Explorer 6.0 or 7.0? Have
you scanned your computer for viruses and spyware recently? Are you seeing
this error message with any other applications besides Messenger?

The same thing is happening to me.

It appears that the final version of 8.1 is broken for users who've tried
the beta.

I think you hit it right on the head. I had 8.0 then tried the 8.1 bata and
started having problems. So went to the final version 8.1 same problem. Now
back to 8.0. Will see if the works for awhile. Thanks JS and Jennifer for
your responses. If you find a way to fix the new version let me know thanks

i am having a same problem. only when i sing in with my msn address. my
brother sing in fine msn msger work fine. plz if fix the problem reply.

Try signing in with the web messenger or see if you can sign in with
messenger on another computer

yes i can sign in to other computers on msn msger and i check my email on my
computer but signin to msn msger

I have this exact same problem. Please let me know if reverting to 8.0
helped. I will try that today.
