Can not add contacts
Can not see if people are online or offline
The link that says 'Add him/her to contact list' is dead

how can Microsoft release such a pathetic, bug riddled program?

I tell you what, I am switching to Yahoo if this problem isnt resolved
within the next 24 hours

Pathetics stuff , Microsoft

Greetings Aussie,

This isn't a problem on their side, it is a client problem.

To correct this problem, shut down Messenger entirely by right-clicking on its icon in the
notification area and choosing Exit, then download and run this .reg file:
http://messenger.jonathankay.com/dow...lmpolicies.reg

Then try signing in again. It make take 30-40 seconds after signing in before you see any
change. If they don't appear online after this you may need to delete and readd them once
more.

I'm sorry but I've tried downloading this fix thing and it still doesnt work.
I add someone but they dont get notified and I cant see their online status.
I click edit contact and it says the contact can't be saved. Why is this?

Any help is greatly appreciated

Aussie,

I would suggest that you have a failed installation, you should uninstall
and re-install. I have none of your problems.

Works great here. Sounds like a temp server issue. I think the most likely
cause is user error based on the childish comments and name calling in your
posts. Just a little hint...You get more bees with honey.

You just need to clear out your contacts folder in documents and settings.
