Windows Live Messenger keeps shutting down

Every time I start my computer and Windows Live Messenger opens. It is ok
for about a minute and a half, then I get an error message that states that
Windows Live has encountered an error and must shut dowm. Sorry for the
inconvenience. Then I can't get it back open or contact anyone. I don't
know how many error messages have been sent. Any suggestions?

ok dudes i think i have solved this ...i did try the adminastrator thing
and nothing
then run as xp got worse ...so now how many of you have norton
preinstalled if you do bingo go the and turn off instant messenger
scanning ....and so far it been working ok and been on over 30 mins with
web cam but wil let you ...so thank norton for f ing up my messenger
..........so i hop this helps you all out as there is nothing worse than
stuff not working need help on other stuff just search sheriffdude

ok it wasent that but i do no what it is ...turn off sharing folders
...that worked for me i had loads of stuff in them so may be there is a
limit .......let me no how you get on

okay well what if we don't have norton pre installed, but the same problem
still keeps happening
