Windows Live Messenger: Logs Unspecified Error. Any Solutions?

I have been having issues trying to save or delete logs from a friends
conversation. Everytime I close the conversation, the screen pops up asking
me to save older messages or delete, and choosing either of them pops up
another screen saying Unspecified Error. Is there any solution to this, I
have been kinda annoyed by this.

hey bro. Look i just had the same problem. what i did was, i just created a new Chat Logs (Chat Logs 2) in \Users\XXXX\Documents\My Received Files

because what i did was, i deleted the previous chats i didnt want from years back, and i freed up 900MB of space haha. but after i deleted all of the chats i didnt want. the error still came up because id been talking to my gf too much haha :P

but i just went to msn, Contacts and changed the saving chat log history into Chat Logs 2, and event though you delete the chat logs, the history of every person you've talked to is still saved (if its not, just recover the files from recylcing bin) and take out any chat you wanna keep and then then you should be safe


so in summary;
1. create new folder for chat logs.
2. delete/take out any convos you wanna keep.
3. keep original Chat Log Folder.
4. go into msn and change save folder location
5. be happy and continue new chats

you wont experience the save or delete files anymore because you replaced the folder. thats why you go into the other folders and find the files you wanna keep
