Greetings Joe,
This is normal for communicating with Yahoo Messenger users. The Yahoo/Live integration is
for text only -- file transfers, webcam and other features aren't available.
To use your webcam with him, you'll either have to install and use Yahoo Messenger yourself
or he'll need to install Windows Live Messenger. Additionally, in either scenario, you'll
need to create or have an applicable account on whichever network/software you choose to use.
