Windows live msger error 8004882e

I downloaded windows live messenger 9 today. Now I can't login with my laptop. When I attempt to login the system tells me no password was entered. It also gives me the error msg 8004882e. If the password was incorrect it would say so. Its like I typed nothing at all for a password. It seems that windows live is not recognizing the password field when I try to login. Ive been looking around for a solution and all I can find is that may be an issue with my fingerprint scanner. Any solutions are appreciated
