Greetings,
Which version of Windows is this? If it's XP, in the "needs to close dialog" you'll see a
link to to see what's in the error report, click that and paste the info here as that can in
some cases be useful.
Unfortunately though, in a lot of cases, it's really difficult to say what's interfering with
it without looking at the dump files. Even then, it still can be questionable. One
question however, is it Windows Live Messenger itself that's crashing or the Windows Live
Contacts Platform?
All that considered, if uninstallation of whatever this server software is doesn't help, you
might consider using System Restore to restore back to when it was working. In XP you can
get there by clicking Start, then Help & Support, then 'Undo changes to my computer using
System Restore'. In Vista, just click Start, type system restore in the search field and
click System Restore when it shows up.
