windows live----sign in problem

Hi! I had Windows Live Messenger and I kept having a ton of problems signing
in. I'm not sure if it's because of recent updates I installed or because WLM
is just screwed up. I have 2 msn accounts. My old acount works perectly fine,
but it's my newer account (which is about 6 months old) that has problems
with WLM. I could sign into WLM with it, but if I tried to change my status
or start a conversation or even check my mail, nothing would work. It would
tell me "service is temporarily unavailable" if I tried anything, yet it
allowed me to sign in and have access to my contact and see who was online.
Sometimes, if I clicked on the email icon, it would actually take me to my
inbox, but most times it wouldn't. Johnathon, you recommended a few solutions
for me as well as other posts, and I tried a bunch of different ones, but
they didn't work. So finally after over a week of struggling, I gave up on
WLM and went back to MSN Messenger 7.5. Now, it all works great!! I've
noticed there are countless number of people having problems with WLM, so why
isn't Microsoft doing anything about it?? Do they even know a problem exists?
Will we ever find out if the problem was fixed so those of us who want WLM
can install it again.......without having problems this time?! Thanks!

You can also try this.

Go to Start, run, then type "regedit"

Navigate to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\microsoft\MSNMessenger\ Policies

Delete the key "contacts.msn.com"

Then, try launching Windows Live Messenger again.
