windows live webcam

i'm trying to connect with my daughter (Mac user) to do video
conferencing-Both of our contacts show "offline"-how do we get the contact
to show "online"? Also, I have entered and re-entered her contact e-mail
address and in the contact profile for her it says her e-mail address is
"invalid". I'm sure it's something simple I'm not doing-(not too computer
savvy) Help!!!! Thank you.

Ignoring your issue for a minute, the Mac version of Messenger does not have video
capabilities. There are some third-party versions of Messenger (aka aMSN) which do provide
this capability, but you may as well use Skype instead (www.skype.com) which will work on
both Mac and Windows with decent video support.
