I don't want to have a list of suggested addresses when I start to type in
the 'To' field. How do I switch this off? Thanks in advance for your help.

I'm sure the program comes with a *help* section to explain things.

Also for your reference, Working with Windows Mail
http://windowshelp.microsoft.com/Win...71a521033.mspx

From memory:

"Tools > Options > Sent

*remove* the checkmark to the "Automatically complete email addresses when
composing.

NB: Apparently this does not reference Contacts.

BTW - what is you Windows Update question, what operating system are you
using including service pack level and what update caused your problem?

'Tools|Options|Send', uncheck the "Automatically complete e-mail addresses
when composing" checkbox.
