I can access the Internet so I know that I'm connect "OK", but when I try to
access Windows Mail I get "Connection to Server Failed", No sockett error
10013, # ox800cccoe,

Is there a solution without doing System Restore that I can try ?

Thanks
Dick

Have you got an anti virus checking your email?

Disable email checking as it offers no extra protection and can cause
problems like this, especially with Microsoft email products. What anti
virus program are you using? Norton? McAfee?

Did you reboot first?

the internet but still have the same problem with e-mail.

The only suggestion I can give you, then, is to use Thunderbird which
will, if you tell it to, import your email messages from Windows Mail.
Get it at http://www.mozilla.com/thunderbird. It has an excellent junk
filter and a real-time spell check. You can also add a calendar if you
like. It works for both email and newsgroups.

"Connection to Server failed" means that you have the wrong details in your
email program!
Go to Tools>Accounts>Mail> and check the details that your internet Service
Provider(ISP) gave you to inset there:
Your username
Your Password
Incoming mail server
Outgoing mail server.

If you don't know the above, contact your ISP.

Start Outlook Express. Note Windows mail is a little different, but the
settings will be the same.
From the Tools menu, select Accounts.
Select the Mail tab.
Click Add and then select Mail. The Internet Connection Wizard dialog box
will display.
Enter your name in the Display Name field and click Next.
Enter your email address in the Email Address field and click Next.
In the My Incoming mail server is a drop-down menu, verify that POP3 is
selected
Enter incoming.verizon.net in the Incoming mail server field.
Enter outgoing.verizon.net in the Outgoing mail server field
In the Account Name field, enter your Verizon Online user name
Enter your password in the Password field
Select Next.
Click Finish to save the new email settings
Click Properties. The incoming.verizon.net Properties dialog box will
display
Select the Servers tab.
Select the My server requires authentication check box and then click
Settings.
Verify Use same settings as my incoming mail server is selected. Click OK.
Click OK to save the mail account.
Click Close to close the Internet Accounts dialog box.
