Is this a known problem?

I don't experience any problems in Windows Mail and I know how to turn the
prompt off, but I would prefer being able to compact my messages.

Regards,
Arfur

Try googling for WMUtil (and backup your mail folders before you use it of
course). Doug

You can fight with Windows Fail or you can use a real email program like
Thunderbird. Get it at http://www.mozilla.com/thunderbird

Thanks for the tip - I downloaded WMUtil and ran the "Compact", "Repair" and
"Clean Blank File" options. These reported no problems, but I still get the
crash when I select to Compact on exiting WM.

Arfur

Do you have your AV checking emails? If so, try disabling it before
compacting.

Another helpful post from Frank who uses Mozilla and doesn't use Windows
Mail. How hypocritical can you get, Frank?

I thought you were the resident Vista expert, Frankie. Don't you have a
solution for the OP or are you just compulsively stalking me with your
lies, insults, profanity and bluster?
