Windows Mail inserting Chinese looking characters

I am having an awful problem with Vista 32's Windows Mail. What looks like Chinese characters are inserted into my emails for SOME people only ie like a whole paragraph. Sometimes my own text is replaced with these. One time it was replaced with question marks instead.

Some people don't know what I am talking about because they don't see them but instead I see them in my part of the email when they reply. They were stunned when I made a pdf and a Word doc out of the emails so they could see what I was talking about. The only other reference to this problem I have been able to find was in another forum where someone replied "we have had 8 reports of this in a year and can only suggest switching to Thunderbird".

I use this email for my home business so it is a serious problem for me. I have been using another computer each time I want to reply to a business email. Can anyone help before I lose my my mind? This has been going on for months. I can not find a Chinese font on my computer. Also a Chinese person said that SOME of the characters LOOK like Chinese. Here is a sample which also includes another line of some squigly things.
Thanks,
Tom

Well, the number of sufferers is growing.... cold comfort as that may be. I'm seeing the same behavior from Windows Live Mail, on 64 bit Windows 7, after the update of late November. This is what a Com Cast user received from me:

FWIW I have been having this problem with one person who was sending me emails using Windows Mail and they kept turning up in Outlook with chinese text as a footer and unreadable content.

I discovered that his emails were quite readable on my BlackBerry :/ so I then forwarded the readable email on to my Outlook account and the content of the email appeared as a rather strange text.

But I noticed in that text that the email had the Stationery base URL referring to a file on the senders machine (i.e. C:\somedir\somefile) which is obviously wrong.

I got him to delete the stationery and the problem is gone. I have seen lots of people suffering this issue when Googling - hopefully this will help someone.
