Windows Mail not responding

Every time I open windows mail, it stops responding for 30 seconds to a
minute. It then responds. Can some one tell me why is it behaving like that.
Even sometimes when I move from one message to another it behaves like that
too.

The proper place would be ...windows.vista.mail instead of ...'general'.
