Windows Mail not showing up

When I go to "start", then "all programs", I do not see a listing for Windows
Mail. I just got a notebook running Windows Vista. I am currently using
Eudora for email but would like to use Office Outlook as well. I do
currently have a Windows Live ID account that I guess was the old Hotmail.
Any help available on this?

Thanks, but I was wondering why "Windows Mail" does not show up in my "all

to install the 2007 version, so I guess that using Outlook is not what I
would like to do. I do have a Windows Live ID account with two hotmail

Not sure why it doesn't show up.

Yes, you can easily upgrade your online accounts first. Just click the
signup button in the aforementioned link for the new Windows Live Hotmail
and it will set you up (it also allows you to switch back if you don't like
it).

What Outlook functions do/did you need that led you to get it rather than
the free Outlook Express? Some of the previously exclusive Outlook functions
are now part of Windows Live Hotmail, like calendar functions.

You may find that Windows Live Mail on your PC & Windows Live Hotmail online
will more than meet your needs.

The installation of Windows Live Mail *may* not be to your liking at this
stage as it will probably copy everything from Outlook. And that is one part
I have not tested ;-)

First, does the free outlook express run on Windows Vista? I guess I was
also wondering why I did not see "Windows Mail" where it should have been so
I thought that something was wrong.
The reason that all of this started was the following, keeping in mind that
I wish I knew more about computers.
1. I use Eudora for my email since my company supports that program, I also
use hotmail (now Live Mail) for my non business and junk mail activities.
2. I use an ISP when I live in one area of the USA that will allow me to
use my Eudora email return address, which is fine.
3. The ISP provider in my summer home requires that I use their email
address as a return address in the SMTP part of my settings in Eudora which
means that I can receive email but not send email unless I use their return
address. I would rather not do this and was advised that using outlook would
allow me to use a return address that was different from my send address
(Eudora does not allow this) and this would allow me to receive and send
email using my current ISP and Eudora and have my return address that I have
used for many many years.
Having read this I would assume that you are sorry you asked why I was
asking the questions I did in the first place.

Outlook Express won't install under Vista, only XP.
Windows Mail is OEs replacement for Vista.
Windows Live Mail will be the replacement for both on Vista & XP.

Email & ISPs are independent.
Any decent email account can be accessed anywhere in the world via any ISP.
If not, it's not a decent email account ;-)

In your situation I would dump Outlook and use the free WLM instead as it
can be configured to suit your ISPs too.

Thanks Mac,
I will configure the free WLM and see if I can configure it to suit my
needs. My guess is that it will if I have eudora forward all my email to
this WLM account. Then I can receive and send out email and have the return
address be my non WLM account and continue to use my company email address
that I have used for so many years and everyone knows.

WLM will allow you access to your accounts - but WLM itself is not an
