"Windows Mail is Restarting" message. How do I stop it!?

I use Windows Mail on a Vista Premium Home edition PC. Initially I had
problems with it because AVG free edition was deleting rogue mails
incorrectly by deleting the email document, but leaving the headers behind in
Windows Mail's list of documents. I have now managed to stop this happening
by removing AVG and re-installing it.
However, whenever I close down Windows Mail, I get two messages:-
1. "Windows Mail has stopped working" followed by....
2. "Windows Mail is restarting".
This is somewhat frustrating as if I'd wanted Windows mail to restart then I
wouldn't have closed it down in the first place!
Any ideas anyone please?

I have exactly the same problem with Windows Mail in Vista Premium Home
edition on a new Acer laptop. The preinstalled version of Norton was causing
the problem with the deleted mails (turning off outbound scanning helped, but
there's obviously an AV compatibility issue here). The restarting Win Mail is
driving me mad, so if anyone has a solution that would be great!

Hi Mark,
I'm glad I'm not the only one. As nobody else had replied I was beginning to
think I was imagining it! I've serached through the registry to find a place
to turn this behavour off, but have come up with a blank. My only hope is
that it will get fixed in a service pack at some later date!
Jonathan.
