Windows Mail Send/Receive

Hi.

I just run into the same problem which I solved once but can't manage to do
it again.
If I open Windows Mail the program sends and receives mail automatically.
Then if I click on Send/Receive again it comes up with an error but no error
details.
If I click the small arrow to the right of Send/receive and choose Receive
All it works but not if I just hit Send/Receive.
Does anybody got an idea how to get rid of this error.
I had this with Ultimate and now with Home Premium, so it's some kind of a
bug in Windows Mail I guess.

Thanks in advance for any help with this.

Tommy

Like Vista, Windows Mail is in General Public Beta (people pay to test
the OS, like you). Try either going for Open Source with www.ubuntu.com
or use Thunderbird, www.mozilla.com/thunderbird.

........thanks for your reply but this is not an option for me as this PC is
not mine and the guy who owns it want Windows Mail to work.
I fixed it once on my own rig with Ultimate but it doesn't work here.
If anyone else has a solution to this would be very much appreciated.
Thanks again.......Tommy.......

Hopefully, when SP1 comes out, it will be fixed. Suggest to your friend
that he use Thunderbird until MS gets its act together.

Tommy, ignore Alias and turn off the auto send/ rec. You find this in the
Tools menu/Options.

How quaint. Why doesn't it work like it's supposed to work? Public Beta,
per chance?

Hi Ian.

Disable Send/Receive at startup didn't do it.
If I start Windows Mail I have to click Send/Receive and it works but only
once.
The second time it won't.
In Ultimate I worked on it for several days and than got it fixed in
Tools-Options -Connection but this won't do in this case.
In case you got another suggestion please let me know.
Thanks again and if I find a solution by myself I'll let you guys know.
But it seems that I won't this time at least not as easy.
By the way Send/Receive automatically every whatever minutes works as it
should......Tommy.......

Tommy I would be very interested to hear from you, if you do fathom it out,
sure is a strange one.
