Windows Mail Sent and deleted folders empty

I am using Windows Vista Home premium and Windows Mail.
I save all my sent mail and deleted mail in their prospective folders but I just looked and the Sent items and Deleted items folders in Windows Mail are empty.

What happened?
I haven't imported or exported or upgraded anything that I know of.
