I seam to have lost part of windows mail the directory is still there but is
not listed in the programs and no where to get it started. It worked well
when vista first installed. how do I recover the lost files with out the loss
of other programs

Hello,

I can't help you exactly with your issue, but if nothing helps, try the free
Windows Live Mail http://get.live.com/betas/maildesktop_betas .
It has the same and more functionality as Windows Mail.

Hi Harwellies,

If you are refering to the "C:\Program Files.....", then you can run
the command "sfc /scannow" (no quotes) in a elevated command prompt. It
should bring them back. Look here for details on how to use this.

Just what is the directory in Mail? If you mean the folder list that shows
in the left hand pane, click the tiny > arrows to expand the folder list
again.
