Not sure about the other questions, but to import WM messages into
Thunderbird, you need the ImportExport Tool add-on...

then import all eml files in a folder. The message location is normally
C:\Users\<yourlogin>\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windo ws Live Mail
(note: \Appdata is normally hidden)
