Go to the Windows Downloads Centre
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/s...displaylang=en
Download the Windows Malicious Software Tool, (save it to disk).
Shut down your browser then run the tool. Restart Windows and the
little key thingy should be gone.
To avoid this irritation go to the control panel and turn off
Automatic Updates - updates are posted on the Windows Updates every
second Tuesday of the month, check then manually. Also you can sign up
for M$ Security bulletins so you get an e mail when a new critcal
update is released. Auto updates is not necessary.
You will be lucky if McAfee removes anything, it will detect / block
most virus infections but it is not the best security solution by some
considerable margin.
