when installing this update,I get error code: 0X80240017 and it fail to instal.
Any ideas,please.

Checking the newsgroup for this error code, it appears that it could mean that
the update is not needed for your system. Now, why that would be when this tool
is new every month and scans for unwanted software and then exits, I don't know.

I found a post by TaurArian [MS-MVP] that explains how to reset your updates, if
needed, to obtain an update that you are sure that you need, but WU returns the
error code you received:

>install is not needed because no updates are applicable
