I have looked at the other topics. Pretty much their issues concern Nero
... But i no longer have nero on my system. Anyways please give some info
if possible. Another forum told me to use FFDSHOW.exe ... and that
crashed Windows media center.

I am Running windows Vista Premium.

I have the same problem. Just posted a message requesting help. Have you
figured it out yet?

If you do that, what do you use to view those file types. I have all of my
movies compressed to avi and stored on my hard drive. I use media center as
an easy way for my family to view them. Do you have a link to any articles
on this?

Not yet. I have an idea that I might need a better graphics card if I'm
going to use dual monitors and Media Center.

I do not have articles on them sir however it did work. Windows media
center will play the AVI Files.

If this does not work for you then hey... you just need to re-download
DivX.

Do you have an Intel chipset? An nVidia or ATI video card? DivX or FFSHow
on your system?

It should be one of the above. Whatever ones of those you have, update
them. The only way you might still have problems with current versions of
them is divx - you would want to go to their support on that one. I'll be
looking up a friend over there and trying to get that further fixed up. =\
