My Windows Media Center has stopped working. When you try to start it up, it
opens for about 20 seconds and then goes grey with an error box in the middle
that says: Windows Media center has stopped working with the scrolling green
bar and the statement that "Windows is checking for a soultion to the
problem" which turns into: "A Problem caused the program to stop working
correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is
available" with a 'Close program' button.

Event viewer has the following:

'CResourceMgr::GetEhepgdat Error GetEhepgdatDispatcher 0x80040154'

then

'Event Info: COMException trying to call ehepgdat.
Process: DefaultDomain
Object Name: Microsoft.Ehome.Epg.Helper.EhepgdatHelper'

then

'CResourceMgr::GetEhepgdat Error GetEhepgdatDispatcher 0x80131534'

then

'Event Info: Error reprocessing guide: System.TypeInitializationException:
Type constructor threw an exception.
at ehiProxy.ResourceMgrClass.GetEhepgdat(IEhepgdat& ppEhepgdatDisp)
at Microsoft.Ehome.Epg.Helper.EhepgdatHelper.GetEhepg dat()
at Microsoft.Ehome.Epg.Helper.EhepgdatBase.Retry(Ehep gdatCall action)
at Microsoft.Ehome.Epg.Helper.EhepgdatBase.Retry[T](EhepgdatCaller`1 x)
at Microsoft.Ehome.Epg.Guide.ReprocessGuideImp()
Process: DefaultDomain
Object Name: Media Center Guide'

then

'Event Info: Error: Failed to reprocess guide!
Process: DefaultDomain
Object Name: Media Center Guide'

then

'Event Info: ERROR: SqmApiWrapper.TimerRecord failed; Win32 GetLastError
returned 10000105
Process: DefaultDomain
Object Name: Media Center Guide'

Any Ideas on a fix?

Also, not sure if it's related but my WMDC stopped working at about the same
time and it hasn't worked since.

Here's a possible solution.

1. Exit any running instance of Windows Media Center.
2. Delete the following file:
%SYSTEMDRIVE%\programdata\microsoft\ehome\Mediacen terdatastore.db

To do this, follow these steps:

a. Click Start button, type run in the Start Search box, and then
click Run in the Programs list.
b. In the Open box, type %systemdrive%\programdata\microsoft\ehome,
and then click OK.
c. In the details pane, right-click mediacenterdatastore.db, and then
click Delete.
d. Click Yes to confirm that you want to move the
Mediacenterdatastore.db file to the Recycle Bin.
3. Start Windows Media Center.

That's the only solution I've found so far.
Hope it helps.
