I cannot find another message base that is specific to WMC so I'm
putting the problem here.

Can someone tell me why this would be happening? I set WMC up to record a
specific show, and it does, but in the middle of the show when I'm playing
it back (sometimes during a commercial even), I get this message on the
screen: "Restrictions set by the broadcaster or originator of the content
prohibit playback of the program on this computer". This is sooooooooo god
blessed aggravating, I cannot even begin to tell you how aggravating. This
has happened more than once on a couple of different occasions. But it does
not happen all the time. What gives here? Is it a setting within WMC, some
kind of security setting or something? I'm not sure of this, but I think it
was actually on the exact same show/channel each time. The new Knight Rider
show on NBC channel 3 in my local area. Is anyone else having this
aggravating problem? Thank you for your time.

The show was trash back in the 80's, and it's trash now. With the price
of gas now of days, how can anyone drive a car around like that without
being broke? ;-)

I use Pinnacle TVcenter Pro, along with WMC to record TV shows.

:-) Way to lighten the mood, I needed that. So in order to get around
this problem I have to go out and spend MORE money. My God, doesn't it ever
fricking end? Or could the software you're talking about possibly be free?
Probably not huh? Anyone else have any ideas as to what is up and how to
get around it? Thanks for the laugh Paul. :-) Oh, and I like the show
myself, but hey, to each his own. :-)

That is that lovely stuff called buggy DRM software bloat. Remember how
everyone talks bad about Windows ME? How do we know they don't mean
Windows Me dia Center?

I would recommend an alternative (no DRM crap in it), here's what I use
at home and it doesn't have to cost you anything:
http://www.mythdora.com/

It's a linux media center distro. HTH.

No you don't have to buy linux, you can download it for free. You can
also buy linux if you want the extra support, your choice. Mythdora is
the linux OS plus the Myth TV media center all in one package.

If you are interested in running the MythTV media center software on
windows, you can go here:
http://winmyth.sourceforge.net/

You might also google Freevo which is another media center option to
Windows media center or MythTV.

Dirty Dawg-

Hi, my name's Cody, and I'm working with the Windows Media Outreach Team to
help answer questions users might have about Windows Media. While I was
looking into a way to solve your issues, I saw a discussion online that some
other folks were having regarding an issue similar to yours. It looks like
they solved it, so here's a link:
http://thegreenbutton.com/forums/thread/273695.aspx I hope this is helpful!

Thanks,

Cody
