Hello all,

When I first started Windows Media Center, it asked me if I wanted it to
start automatically. How can I turn this off so that I can start it
manually?

Thanks,

Steve

On the start screen, scroll to Tasks, click settings, click General, click
Startup and Window Behavior, and then click to Uncheck "Start Windows Media
Center when Windows starts".

Click Save to save your changes.

Thank you so much. I really appreciate it.

Best,

Open Windows Media Play and navigate to Tasks. In the Tasks section click on
Settings. In the settings window, click on the General option followed by
startup and windows behaviour. In the startup and windows behaviour window
remove the 'tick' mark from the 'start windows media center when windows
starts' option and then click the Save button.

The next time you start your PC windows media player should remain disabled
until you manually start it.

My Media Player is already set like this, since I don't use it.
Nevertheless, I periodically see messages that it is connecting
to the Internet to update the programme guide. How do I tell it
that I do not want it to perform any actions associated with TV?
