WINDOWS MEDIA PLAYER-ASKING FOR SECURITY UPDATE??

I have downloaded my 1st "full" song from the Internet. I bought it on the
Walmart website. I was unable to listen/play the song after I downloaded
because Windows Meda Player showed the following error:

The required security upgrade cannot be validated. Try installing the latest
Internet Explorer service pack. To install the service pack from the Windows
Update Web site, click Web Help.

So, I proceeded to download every security upgrade and every other upgrade
from the Microsoft Windows Update site that my computer stated I needed. I am
still unable to get this downloaded song to play. The same message occurs and
I have downloaded every update possible. I have also restarted my computer
after every download. I would appreciate any help anyone can give me.

Hi Rhonda,
I just came across your post from August because I'm having the same exact
problem. I downloaded a couple of songs from Walmart and can't listen to
them. Did you ever figure out the problem?? Please let me know if you have
any hints or solutions.
Thanks...

You're posting in the wrong newsgroup.
This symptom (probably) has nothing to do with Windows Update.

I'm having the same problem on the movielink site. "Cannot update windows
media player security". What group should we go to?
