It sure is thrown around alright. I have many friends who try to get me to
switch to Yahoo! and me to Messenger. I am a Microsoft fan for reasons I wont
get into here, but this in another bothersome thing about Microsoft marketing.
If Microsoft were upfront about this fact perhaps more users would migrate
over to Microsoft. But when a user spends a whole afternoon trying to "talk"
(
http://get.live.com/messenger/overview ) to their friends with Yahoo! it
tends to really, really burn their buns and create a bad taste in their
mouths. Googling it is pointless. ("Microsoft" and "sucks" are joined at the
hip) So is meandering around Microsofts help areas.
Yahoo! doesn't claim to work with Messenger, so they are up one on the
credibility scale. Hello!
Thanks for the reply!
