Good afternoon,
I'm still in the phase of testing Windows Vista in conjunction with Office
2007 and I must say I like the new look and feel. But unfortunately one of
the most important functions in a business environment (certainly with VIP
and CEO people) is the synchronization between their laptop and PDA. And to
be honest, that’s a nightmare up until now.
I know the software is still in a beta phase (this should not be the case
since Vista has been release for business since November), but it simply
does not work on a clean Vista Ultimate / Office 2007 Ultimate combination in
conjunction with a HTC TyTn PDA.
I've got the contacts synchronized, but everything else fails. Sometimes I
get an error message with no info, sometimes I see no messages at all, other
times the synchronization keeps on going and going ...
On the Internet there is not much specific help to be found, so I hope
someone here can help me out.
I also tested the eWallet software afterwards and I must say, this uses a
very easy install and synchronizes like a charm. I really wish the Outlook
data would work as fast and hassle-free.
Kind regards,
Benny

This was the post I submitted to the Private Partner Site, but unfortunately
it was the wrong place to do so. I do got some nice tips and hints from Lee
Li and got searching on this page :
http://blogs.msdn.com/jasonlan/archi...ce-center.aspx
I deleted the partnership and tried again using the tips on this page. It
seemed to work a lot better, but when trying to sync the calendar it blocks
again. If you are very fast or lucky you can see the following message in
Sync Center : “Attention required% The following appointments failed to
synchronize...”
The problem is that you never get to see more info on this error. Searching
the Internet I’ve found numerous entries on this topic, but none relating to
the Vista/2007 combination. Also they mention problems with notes attached to
items like a appointment. No real solutions however.
It’s impossible to simply delete all my appointments and recurring tasks …
Any ideas anyone?
Thanks,
Benny
