Experienced same problem as DVD Maker, with Vista refusing to start app due
to video card requirements.

Since the same system is used in XP to do video, I installed a few of the XP
apps I use for video. They all work fine. Clearly this is a Vista imposed
restriction that has little to do with what is actually possible with the
installed hardware.

You got that right. Three of my four monitors are black as night and dead as
doornails in Vista. It is frustrating, and there's not darn thing I can do
about it right now.

There are lots of DVD Video Problems with Build 5308 (including watching
MPEG's in Windows Media Center with 5308 CTP). Microsoft previously had a
5308.18 Windows Update for the MPEG Format, but it is gone now from WU.

If you are experiencing issues with Video and Sound, its because of the
built in Video Card drivers that come with Build 5308, go to nVidia or ATI
website and get the latest drivers for your video card. The bundled ones are
lousy.

In my case this has nothing to do with video drivers, as XP versions of
Movie Maker work correctly on Vista.
