Windows Photo Gallery - Hitch in Transitions in "Pan and Zoom"

I've been running a Fujitsu, recently a 6220, and the slideshow
feature works fine.

I'm using a Toshiba Sat A305-S6908 and now when I use the "pan and
zoom" feature, my pics are getting "caught" in the transitions, then
"dissolving" rather than the seamless cutting I'm used to.

Do I need a different graphics card?

I've tried this solution

but no help. Any suggestions?
