I have a 2003 SBS server and the last admin apears to of changed the registry
to make it look like 2000.
Because of this I cannot install some programs such as Windows Defender.
The error says I must had 2003 Server with at least SP1
I have gone to windows update and installed all the updates available
including Exchange update with no problems.
I have checked for hidden updates just in case sp1 has been hidden and not
installed. Thier are no hidden updates.
Does anyone know of a regisrty key change that would make the operating
system appear to be 2000 so that soft ware could be installed.
I need to change this key back to the correct value to that I do not have
problems in the future.
thank You

So - have you installed SP1 or not?? - from what you say it would appear
that you have not installed it!

Yes service pack 1 was installed .
The last admins notes say he had to change a registry key so that the Richo
software could install.

I am worried about reinstalling it as it may corrupt my system I have all
the other updates since service pack 1 installed.
The only thing this really affects is some third party software and windows
defender.
I am really looking for waht reg key he changed so tat I can set it back to
the original value.
I will ask the Richo people maybe it is part of thier instalation .
Thanks

Richo?? - or Ricoh??
what software are we talking about here??
try running Belarc Advisor (I think it runs properly on SBS) and seeing what
it reports..... I'll have a word with an SBS specialist and see if I can get
them interested.
