Windows Vista should have a built-in instant search indexing. So, I am not
really sure what Windows Search 4.0 for Windows Vista for
(http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...displaylang=en).
Is there any difference between built-in instant search and Windows Search
4.0?

I think what came with Vista is Windows Search 3.x. I installed 4 and
find it EXCELLENT. Best I have seen, fast and accurate and does the
E-mails as well as attachments perfectly. Indexing seems unobtrusive as
well. It just installed, I assume over what ever Search was there
native from original

Hi Vincent

This KB article on Windows Search 4.0 explains the new features of it
It may help answer your question

'Description of Windows Search 4.0 and the Multilingual User Interfac
Pack for Windows Search 4.0' (http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=940157

Hope this helps
