Why does the Search command remain in the context menu in Explorer even
though I have
disable Windows Search from Administrative Tools--Services, I rebooted the
machine after
disabling it

Hello James,

Disabling the "Windows Search" service will only disable the search
Index. Vista will still be able to search for items using a non-index
search instead. It takes a little bit longer since it not using the
index, but the search results will always be more accurate.

Hope this helps,
Shawn
