Windows security update KB919007 & KB914388

I run Windows XP pro SP2, v 2096; Windows Update is configured to run
automatically but everytime it installs the security update KB919007 &
KB914388 it disables the windows firewall and network connections. Now I'm
using system restore to undo the updates everytime they are installed.
The error numbers I recieve is 7001, 7023, 10010 and 1068. I wonder if there
is a solution for this.

*Most* of the updates can be uninstalled via Add/Remove Programs in the
Control Panel. Actually, that is the first uninstall routine one should
attempt.

1)Is the system clean of *all* malware ?
2) KB914388 is the most likely culprit for the issues you describe.
What security software is installed - e.g. Antivirus, security 'suite',
firewall, etc.

Suggest you post the KB914388.log that is located in the WINDOWS
directory (folder) in your reply, please.
Also, check in Event Viewer, System and Application event logs to see if
any error messages are present for the time that KB914388 was installed.
