Windows Server 2003 Windows Update Service Missing

Windows Server 2003 Windows Update Service Missing - doesn't show in
Control Panel. Doesn't show in the Services list. Doesn't show on
Windows Updates - although the Critcal and other updates do show.

I think the last major event was the install of the latest SQL Server
2000 service pak. AU was present at one point. This is a new server.

Another post suggested doing an Install using the context menu for
au.inf - Explorer just blinks but nothing changes.

Any ideas?

I manually moved the five files as indicated by the /inf/au.inf file
after using EXPAND on the copies in /i386. I then ran Regsvr32
wuaueng.dll and after a reboot thinghs appear to be working - at least
the Automatic Updates tab has reappeared on the Computer Properties
dialog.
